Dr. Catherine Newry is a Naturopathic Doctor based in Toronto, whose practice focuses on helping women improve their health and overall quality of life.
After graduating from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor degree in Biomedical Science, Dr. Newry attended the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she earned her degree in Naturopathy. To support the skillset of her practices focus, Dr. Newry completed additional training as a naturopathic doula, where she learned to leverage her knowledge to assist women through pregnancy and the birthing process. Now, Dr. Newry uses the skills she’s acquired to care for women in the Toronto area through her own Naturopathic Medicine practice at a clinic Lawrence Park (Yonge and Lawrence).
From a young age, Catherine Newry knew that would someday practice medicine. Living in the Bahamas with her grandparents, Catherine found one of her first role models in her grandfather, a respected neurosurgeon. While surgery wasn’t for her, she knew that she would someday help others through the career path she would choose. Her love of sciences and physiology led her to study biomedical sciences in university, and her search for a schooltime job as a medical receptionist led to Catherine’s discovery of naturopathic medicine. She took a position working in a naturopathic clinic, where she discovered her passion for that field. It was naturopathic medicine’s very patient-centred practices which focus on the why and the how of diagnosing and treatment ailments that drew her in. Today, Dr. Catherine Newry applies the disciplines and skills she learned through her studies to her own naturopathic practice. In her own words, Catherine says that “being a naturopathic doctor has allowed me to offer the best of who I am and what I’m passionate about, to make difference in the lives of others.”
